Dominos is a corpus of paintings

imitating a  series of windows by their frames and their proportions. On their surface, insects painted as grouped together on a window pane at night, attracted by the artificial lights of our interiors, gather together before our eyes.

With an innocuous and discreet appearance,

a story  is being plotted yet could not be closer, flush with the frame: Suggested by the position of the clusters of different moths, the window becomes a domino and tells in the rustle of wings the arrival of the box tree moth, a species inadvertently imported following the expansion of global human exchanges, thus proliferating throughout Europe.

Groups of small pests suddenly become identifiable, Rusty Lemongrass, Pine Sphinx...

Domino effect or butterfly effect, this piece invites us to become aware of the living that we rarely identify with a history, changing territories and an intertwined temporality  closely to our own.
