Louise Vendel
Louise Vendel (1993, France) is a visual artist.
She lives and works in Paris.
Inspired by nocturnal atmospheres in that they modify our relationship to the world, Louise Vendel develops an artistic practice highlighting the signs of a complex relationship between Man and his environment. Through her drawings and installations, she endeavors to create a dialogue between the traces of wild and natural behavior with those of our instincts blunted by our Western comfort.
Within her work, the spectator's perception of space, the materiality of the object or even the codes of museography are components to be considered in the same way as the charcoal, the ink or oil that she applies. Louise Vendel tends to highlight the sensitivity that emanates from these hybrid situations which mix behavior and arrangements, human or non-human symbols and signs, thus creating strange, pathetic or even cruelly banal scenes.
